Pastel film stocks like Fuji 400H made a whole generation of wedding and lifestyle photos look light, soft and timeless: overexposed by a stop, with minty greens and skin that glows.
Most of those films are gone or expensive to shoot, and a digital file looks nothing like them. Straight out of the camera, greens are heavy, whites go grey on cloudy days and skin turns too red or too yellow. Film 400 rebuilds the film scan: it brightens the exposure, pulls greens towards mint, cools the whites, keeps skin soft and pinkish-peach and lays a gentle cyan matte into the shadows.

Do I need a paid Adobe subscription?
No. The mobile presets work in the free Lightroom Mobile app on iPhone and Android. If you edit on a computer, the desktop presets work in Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC.
How will I get the presets?

Is this a copy of Fuji 400H?
Film 400 is our own modern take on the pastel look of 400-speed colour film such as Fuji Pro 400H, shot one stop overexposed and scanned soft. It is not a scientific film emulation and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Fujifilm. Fujifilm and Pro 400H are trademarks of their owner.
What kind of photos work best?
Photos in soft light: overcast days, open shade, window light and the hour before sunset. Weddings, couples, portraits, beaches and travel. For strong midday sun, try Push +1; for black & white, Mono 400.
Will my photos look exactly like the examples?
Every photo is different (light, colours, exposure), so think of a preset as the starting point. Usually a small tweak of exposure or white balance is all it takes to match the look.
What if the presets don't suit my photos?
Send us an unedited photo and we'll personally adjust the presets for you. And if you're still not happy, you get your money back within 30 days.
